We aren’t really sure how many of you are still glued to your “Yahoo” IDs, but in case you haven’t logged into your Yahoo Account for a while; chances are you will lose your ID forever. In a surprising move yesterday, Yahoo’s Jay Rossiter, Senior Vice President – Platforms, announced “freeing” of IDs not used for 12 months. In his statement, Rossiter confirmed freeing up of IDs and their subsequent availability to new users from 15th July ‘13. It is worth mentioning here that Yahoo! was looming in the “Internet Graveyard” before Marissa Mayer took charge in January 2013. Marissa announced that Yahoo will undergo some intense and radical transformation in order to regain its “rightful” share in the “Internet World”. According to Rossiter, who announced freeing up of Yahoo IDs from idle users, the new freed-up Yahoo IDs will be available to everyone who always wanted “short, sweet and memorable” Yahoo IDs. He further added that if you haven’t used your Yahoo ID for quite some time, then you should log in now to avoid losing your yahoo ID forever.
