Happy Thanksgiving Verses, Poems, Greetings

Why Thanksgiving?

Thanksgiving is the time of year when we give thanks for all the things that we are thankful for. These vary from modest things that may be not worth mentioning to others but are of immense significance to us individually, throughout to the superior things that we all give thanks for.

Expressing Your Gratitude with Cards, Gifts and Greeting Messages

Handmade cards, offerings, handmade posters and other things are a grand way to share Thanksgiving thoughts with others. Whether it is a handmade greeting card to tell an important person how much you are thankful for their acquaintance or a poster recording your special thoughts this Thanksgiving, finding the true words and sentiments can be the wonderful way to make it happen.

Types of Sentiments for Thanksgiving Cards

There are numerous special types of words and sentiments that can be used for writing Thanksgiving cards. These vary from only some plain words of thanks which are influential for the reason that they come instantly from the heart, through to traditional poems, verses or quotes.

Tailoring the types of words to go with the temperament of the situation is imperative. As is making sure that the words are appropriate for the receiver. An especially traditional Thanksgiving idea will work fine with a few traditional words, while if you are preparing an entertaining or funny card, then a joke or humorous verse will suitably complement.

Add positivity to your attitude!

"A truly compassionate attitude toward others does not change

even if they behave negatively or hurt you."

Dalai Lama

We all come from corner to corner experiencing with people who hurt us or perform negatively.  Possibly our foremost response is to lash out at them or, become angry with them;  particularly when we feel hurt or disappointed.  But the Dalai Lama’s words are ones that could be well thought-out of as a quote to live by as if we sustain a considerate approach we are not feeding into the negativity of the individual.

When people counter with a negative attitude or they do something to hurt, it truly is them who has the trouble.  They have some issue that they need to resolve, and the issue is not you it is within them.

Encircle yourself with positive people, people who give confidence and understand you.  Don’t let your liveliness be inspired by those with a negative attitude – life is just too short.  Showing kindness and feeling sorry for the being will take away your anger and hurt, but there is no need to be focused to their negativity.

Thanksgiving Poems

I Thank you

Poet: Mary Simms, (c)2011

I thank you for,
The times when you,
Were there for me,
And saw me through.

I thank you for,
Your loving words,
Of inspiration,
And some dictation.

I thank you for,
Providing for me,
Taking care of me,
And watching over thee.

I thank you for,
Most of all,
Always being the one who,
Catches me when I fall.

Happy Thanksgiving

At this time of Thanksgiving we pause
to count our blessings.
The freedom of this great
country in which we live.
It’s opportunity for achievement.
The friendship and confidence
you have shown in us.
For all of these things
we are deeply thankful.
Our best wishes for a
Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Feasting

By Joanna Fuchs

When the Halloween pumpkins are gone,
And the leaves have all fallen to ground,
When the air has turned windy and cold,
Then Thanksgiving will soon be around.

Thoughts of loved ones all feasting together,
Pleasant pictures from past times appear
To dwell in each heart and each mind–
Then Thanksgiving is finally here!

The kitchen has scrumptious aromas,
The dining room looks oh, so fine,
Decorations with pilgrims and turkeys,
And now we are ready to dine!

First the napkins are placed on our laps;
Now the prayer for the meal to be blessed,
Then we stuff the good food in our tummies,
And we hope for it all to digest!

More Than A Day

By Karl Fuchs

As Thanksgiving Day rolls around,
It brings up some facts, quite profound.
We may think that we’re poor,
Feel like bums, insecure,
But in truth, our riches astound.

We have friends and family we love;
We have guidance from heaven above.
We have so much more
Than they sell in a store,
We’re wealthy, when push comes to shove.

So add up your blessings, I say;
Make Thanksgiving last more than a day.
Enjoy what you’ve got;
Realize it’s a lot,
And you’ll make all your cares go away.

Thanksgiving Delights

By Joanna Fuchs

On Thanksgiving Day we’re thankful for
Our blessings all year through,
For family we dearly love,
For good friends, old and new.

For sun to light and warm our days,
For stars that glow at night,
For trees of green and skies of blue,
And puffy clouds of white.

We’re grateful for our eyes that see
The beauty all around,
For arms to hug, and legs to walk,
And ears to hear each sound.

The list of all we’re grateful for
Would fill a great big book;
Our thankful hearts find new delights
Everywhere we look!

Most of All

Thanksgiving Day brings to mind
the blessings in our lives
that usually go unnoticed:
a home that surrounds us
with comfort and protection;
delicious food, for pleasure
in both eating and sharing;
clothes to snuggle up in,
books and good entertainment
to expand our minds;
and freedom to worship our God.
Most of all we are thankful
for our family and friends,
those treasured people
who make our lives extra special.
You are part of that cherished group.
On Thanksgiving, (and every day)
we appreciate you.

Happy Thanksgiving!
