Dundee University Introduces Graduate Level Degree Program in Comics
We’ve seen comics being transformed into cartoon shows, action figures and movies. Now, for the first time, we shall get to see comics become an actual major which the students of Dundee University’s (Scotland) English department can choose to specialize in.
With a student population of close to 19000, Dundee University becomes United Kingdom’s primary academia to introduce a 1-year long graduate level degree program in Comic Studies.
Hailing this is as a great initiative for the revival of comic artists & writers, Dr. Chris Murray, one of United Kingdom’s leading influence on comics said,
“It delighted him to see an internationally acclaimed academic institute offering a postgraduate major in the field of comic development”.
Both Dr. Murray and Dundee University are now focusing on the post-education employment aspect of this degree program as they will provide students with all the practical skills & knowledge they need on publishing work.
Furthermore, they will be contacting various publishing houses and other agencies throughout the United Kingdom to ensure that students who uptake this major will not be left helpless upon the completion of their studies.
