Harvard English professor Marjorie Garber, best known for her works on Shakespeare, states that literature would continue to be an “integral part” of human experience.

Best known for her works Shakespeare and Modern Culture’ , Shakespeare After All’ Coming of Age in Shakespeare, and Shakespeare’s Ghost Writers, Garber now takes on the analysis of literature’s placement in modern world in her latest work The Use and Abuse of Literature’ .

In her latest book, Garber digs into the literary pleasures of Kindles, Milton, Dan Brown and Nietzsche and analyzes its future and importance for young and old, alike.

Growing concerns about toxic literature which is mushrooming nowadays, written in text messages language and no  moral or ethical sidelines is the issue addressed by Garber in her work.

According to Garber,

“None of these conversations have anything to do with today’s society; since the invention of written language we’ve been fighting over who was using it correctly and who was ruining it for the rest of us.”
